St. Kitts shore excursions?
One of our ports of call on our upcoming cruise in Feb. will be St. Kitts. Can anyone recommend which shore excursions are the best?
Thanks |
Fort Brimstone on St. Kitts is pretty amazing. I'd suggest taking a private taxi tour rather than a shore excursion. Go to Ft. Brimstone first, then continue around the island and have lunch at the Golden Lemon plantation on Dieppe Bay, then continue south to stop at the Black Rocks, then down to the peninsula to stop at one of the good beach bars, then back to the ship. You can negotiate a rate with the taxi driver that will be considerably less than a shore excursion.

I totally agree with ejcrowe.

Another vote for ejcrow's recommendation. Hire a taxi (there will be plenty waiting at the dock) and take a private tour. The driver/guide will take you to all the best spots (the Fortress at Brimstone Hill, the Batik Factory at Romney Manor, the petroglyphics, the Black Rocks, various historical sites, old ruins, etc.) you'll move at your own pace and have a truly enjoyable day. We have a place on Nevis Whenever we have house guests and take them to St. Kitts for the day we do exactly that. We've done it numerous times and have never tired of it.
Expect to pay around $20US/hour (minimum 3 hours - rates might be slightly higer do to recent increases in fuel costs on the island) for a van & driver. Well worth the cost. |
There are many shore excursions in St.Kitts I can arrange a specialist to come and assist you in anyway they can please contact me for any other questions.

skbfan, thanks good tour site.
do you know anything about the marriott? main building or garden villas? |
I stayed at the villas last month and they were very nice. However, the hotel is quite quiet now, due to economy, so even if you stay in the main hotel it should not be very noisy..
