St. Kitts Newest Fine Dining Restaurant
|
Those dessert menus sound mighty fine!
Does this mean that the casual beach bar at Turtle Beach is no more? Or is this new place in addition to it? |
This is a totally "new" restaurant which is scheduled to open in April. It's right where the "old" beach bar was located but has undergone considerable renovation.
The "old" beach bar at Turtle Beach was closed quite a while ago. The person who operated the Turtle Beach beach bar now has a place called Raggae Beach Bar on Cockelshell Beach (the next beach to the south). |
Thanks for the response, RoamsAround. I didn't realize that Turtle Beach had been closed for sometime--I haven't been to the island since late 2006. What happened to Wilbur the pig? Has be been transplanted to the Reggae bar?
I loved Cockleshell beach and thought it was the prettiest one on the island that I visited. I'm almost sorry to read that the new beach bar is there, as it will no doubt grow in popularity and no longer have a secluded feel to it. |
Wilbur is roaming around Turtle Beach somewheres... Last I heard he was missing in action. :)
Reggae Beach Bar is very popular on Sundays with the locals and also when cruise ships are in port. You can walk down the beach to Lion's Beach Bar if it gets too busy. For more information visit www.myislands.myeyez.net |
3 weeks ago, Wilbur was still at TB sleeping under the walk-over bridge. He was taken over to Cockelshell but he found his way back to TB.

You all may be interested in the reason Turtle Beach closed. got to http://www.christopheharbour.com. You'll find development you won't believe! Turtle Beach is going to be the site of a new Auberge Resort and Majors Bay will be the site of a new Mandarin/Oriental development. Nags head is a new 18 hole golf course and the salt pond is becoming one hugh harbour with a man-made island in the center!

Now is the time to visit St. Kitts before all the changes occur.
|
I couldn't agree more....Now is the time to go. We saw so much development over the last 3 years.
Hope it doesn't happen to Nevis. |
I'm intrigued by SKBFAN1's comments. Not too long ago on another forum, where she posts under a different name, she was advocating all types of new "tourist amenties" like jet skis, parasailing, more condos, etc. for St. Kitts' sister island of Nevis which would have changed it from "an undiscovered paradise" to another St. Martin. She's obviously changed her tune but it may be too little too late.
I, for one, hope that both St. Kitts and Nevis develope at a much slower pace. |
