St. Kitts

We're planning a New Year's vacation in St. Kitts with a group of friends. Any recommendations for good resorts and/or home rentals? Also any other information on St. Kitts?

We visited St. Kitts and stayed at the Jack Tar Village which is an all-inclusive and was great for the $. We did get sick of the food by the 5th day tho. The roads are awful..I wouldn't recommend renting a car; use the taxi instead. The island is very poor but some spots are beautiful. You can't help but notice all the litter. Go to the Caribelle Batik and take the island tour by taxi. We also went on the catamaran cruise to Nevis...it was wonderful..we booked it thru the hotel. We went off-season and the beaches were very quiet. I'd definitely go back and I'd stay at Jack Tar again...unless I had a bundle of $...then I'd recommend the Golden Lemon.

Stayed at "Ottley's Plantation" several years ago.
Beautiful property on a hillside next to a small
tropical rainforest(actually part of the grounds).
The hosts are very helpful and friendly. The food
is terrific - especially if Pam, the chef, is still
there. Problem is that you need transportation to
get to an ocean beach (which they supply or rent-a-
car). There is a wonderful spring-fed pool next to
the outdoor dining room and bar which is down the
hill separate from the main house. My wife and I
loved it.
