St. John -- Where to stay????

Would anyone suggest a place to stay in St. John (USVI)? The choices online seem limted. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I should have mentioned that we would like to stay 3-4 days...

I looked into renting something but the minimum is always a week...

What time of year? Some places will rent for less than a week if it is offseason. As for hotel type rooms, I would recommend you look into either Estate Lindholm or Gardenbythesea.com The St. John Inn and Tamarind Court are also small inns in Cruz Bay but they are kind of rough around the edges. You will have to decide for yourself which are more suitable for your budget. Dependent upon the time of year, the Westin (pretty posh) runs specials, for example, right now, they've got a special of just $189 per night until December 15.

In the off season, I think they might be more flexible on the dates. Thing is the whole villa has to be cleaned between users & the cost for that will be the same whether you stay one night or seven.

Check with vrbo or some of the places tuxedocat suggested.

Good luck! STJ is a wonderful place.

Try Gallows Point in Cruz Bay - Condo with some hotel ammenities. I considered it but the Westin seemed a better fit for my family.

The most desirable resort is Caneel Bay Resort. But, it comes with a heavy price tag. It offers 170 acreas of beautiful grounds unless they have not had rain for 5-7 days, and the beaches are small but lovely. The premium rooms are nice but not spectacul. We have stayed there 7-8 times over the years and found the snorkeling to be excellent and the diving to be fair to good.
The dining has gone from fair to good as I read of recent travelers to the resort. But in-sesaon the rates are about $900+/couple with premium room. MAP, taxes, etc.
