St. Thomas vs. Barbados
I have not spent too much time in the Caribbean and am trying to decide between a trip to Barbados and St. Thomas. We are late 20's/early 30's and want to spend time on the beach and snorkel, but we also want to have other options and some nightlife, although, we don't need anything too crazy. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi cippalippa,
We've love to travel the Caribbean and have been to both St. Thomas & Barbados.
If you're looking for great snorkeling, St. Thomas is a far better location than Barbados.
While we love Barbados for it's exploring and history, the snorkeling there is not very good compared to the USVI.
If you enjoy beaching, snorkeling and nightlife, do St. Thomas with a day trip by ferry over to St. John. Many wonderful beaches and water activity.
Happy planning!

That is a very hard call-
I LOVE St Thomas- and have stayed at the Ritz Carlton and at Mariott Frenchman's Reef...Both terrific resorts....St Thomas has good nite life.....
Barbados- stay at Royal Pavillion or Sandy Lane ( if budget permits)...both are secluded...
You will need a car on either island to get around as everything is so spread out...
Snorkeling is definitely better on St Thomas ( esp with a side sailboat trip to St Johns)....
Beaches are GORGEOUS on Barbados..
