St. John Gas Stations

In the near future the only place to get gas will be in Coral Bay.The Texaco station is now closed and the other station will be closed for two months.

Thanks Roberto, for the link to this article.
The station in Coral Bay has run out of gas at times.
I shared this info with a StJ resident who sighed and laughed, "Oh well...!!"
StJohnian reactions to the stories of shortages, power outages, etc remind me of Gilda Radner's "It's always something."

good news:
The government is going to reopen the Tezaco---negotiations positive.

Oh, goodie. I hope my buddy "Jackson" is okay. Those folks at that Texaco station are so kind and helpful. They charged me $6 to change a flat tire and repair the holein the old tire, and ain't 'cause I'm pretty. I just knew that that they'd see the error of closing down the Texaco without alternatives. God bless STJ!

Thanks for the update, Carib.

Good news!! I'd been wondering and worrying If it closes, how long 'til there's another source of car fuel in Cruz Bay goes; will economy there suffer , will there be gas station next time I or family go, etc etc

I need to get more T'cat-type optimism!

How about the station on the road to the Westin--just past the Star Market(used to same one that was in Coral Bay) ??

ezron Sep 13th, 2006 06:56 PM

Sorry--didn't see the rest of the story.

Tuxedocat Sep 14th, 2006 07:29 PM

CaliNurse: If they did do something nutty like close down the only gas station in Cruz Bay, why don't you and I just move down there and open up a new one? :) I had seen the article too and was initially concerned, but I like to focus on the possibilities surrounding any negative. The only things I haven't found too much light to is death and taxes.

I heard on the radio the Cruz Bay station would be open by today. Don't know if it happened or not.

LOL T'uxedocat. Us pumping gas, eh? I've wondered what kind of work I can find if moving there--Myrah Keating is the closest they have to the kind of work I do.
My sister hasa great positive attitude like you. Must be something you either pick up on St John, or that you need in the first place before moving there!!

Long live St John and its Texaco!

Thanks for the gas station idea....and for ALL your help to all of us on this forum
