I hear ya that is what i liked about aruba, the low key. we did not stay in a high rise. when i want to see crowds i can go to them, i dont want to stay in one. we loved just walking on the beach at night, riding our bikes, the tours etc. but we do want to try other places. if i really love bahamas perhaps i will take my husband back. my ex hus. never liked to travel and my new one loves it a great deal always wants to check out something new.

Kelly, our favorite villa is La Papaya rented through Destination St. John. Those people are great to work with and to depend on. The villa has outstanding views, gets great breezes and has A/C everywhere. I'll try to remember the name of the house we rented on Eluthera.

BVI are very accessible from the US Virgin Islands... good for day tripping, not sure if I'd spend a week there however. If you get a villa on St John, get it in or near Cruz Bay, like Chocolate Hole. There's not enough to do on the other side of the island near Coral bay/Salt Pond Bay... you'll regret the half hour drive every time you head that way. Check out stjohnusvi.net photo galleries, there's like a 1000 pictures, then make your decision. You can always day trip elsewhere in the Caribbean.

Kelly,
I am getting married In June and our first trip to the Caribbean will be our honeymoon! As You have been to the BVIs and st Lucia which would you recommend for a honeymoon. I would absolutely love to stay near the pitons at stone field estate or at ladera , but I am worried about the beach access , being too secluded and the crime that is I'm areas of st Lucia . I am torn between choosing the amazing sceney of st Lucia versus the awesome looking beaches in the BVIs ( virgin gorda or Peter island). We are an active couple, would love to do some diving and hiking , but obviously on a honeymoon we don't want everything scheduled out and would like to enjoy some downtime . But in your opinion where would you choose for a honeymoon ? |
>>>the crime that is I'm areas of st Lucia .
Can you elaborate on the crime you think exists against tourists in St Lucia? I find some areas of the US quite scary, much more so than a Caribbean island. If you are interested in staying near the Pitons and want beach access, check Sugar Beach which has been recently renovated and formerly called Jalousie http://www.viceroyhotelsandresorts.com/sugarbeach Or Anse Chastanet, snorkelling and scuba right on the hotel beach. http://www.ansechastanet.com/ |
wilbur22, you might want to post your own thread with what you are looking for in a honeymoon to get more/better responses. Most people aren't going to see/respond to a thread that is 5 years old.

I'm worried because I can't carry my pistol in another country, I agree with ya though deff worse parts in US , but as a traveler you are more vulnerable when you don't know which areas to avoid. KVR I will post a new forum thanks for yalls help, new to te site. |
