St John and St Thomas must do's

My husband and I will be in St Thomas 2 nights and St John 4 nights. We would love to know favorite restaurants, best beaches, snorkling, bars, etc... Thank you!

Here are my suggestions for St. John:
Best snorkel spots: Waterlemon, Salt Pond and Honeymoon. Consider a dail sail snorkel trip that takes you to some close islands to snorkel.
Beaches to relax: Trunk, cinnamon, Solomon
Restaurants: Lime Inn, La Tapa's. Woody's and Joe's are great for cheaper eats. Skinny Legs for great burgers
Bars: Great drinks- Morgan's Mango or Lime Inn bar. Duffy's for fun drinks- a pretty young crowd. For watching the traffic: Quiet Mon pub or Woody's.

Enjoy!

Don't miss Charlotte Amalie at night. As you wander the back streets you catch glimpses of the twinkling lights reflecting in the harbor. The local flavor is not to be missed!!

I wouldn't take Goria's advice and wander around the back streets of Charlotte Amalie at night. Twinkling lights or not, I don't think its safe to wander any one's "back streets" at night time!

There used to be a nice restaurant in St. Thomas; something like "Mafolie"; food was good (steak, chicken, fish). It was in the hills and the view was nice. It's been about 10 years since we've been there. Recent trips we have stayed on St. John.

Most of my favorite St. John things have already been mentioned.

One I haven't seen - visit The Beach Bar; especially on Tuesday evenings (?) for the crab races.

If this is your first trip, you will be hooked after it.

I would stay away from the back streets unless you are into getting mugged and that sort of thing. A nice play to go for a sunset on St. Thomas is the tramway near the cruise ships. Something to try thats different

Mafolie is still there, but the restaurant is closed. I hear the new owners are working on opening a restaurant in time for the upcoming season.
A perfect place to see the twinkling of the lights of Charlotte Amalie!
Try Alexander's in Frenchtown, Cuzzin's for great local food, Mim's Seaside Bistro, Old Stone Farmhouse, to mention a few more.
Ronnie

In STJ you definitely have to eat at the Lime Inn and Stone Terrace. Island Blue's in Coral Bay is a fairly new rest/bar with decent food and a local crowd and live music. And you definitely have to have breakfast at Chilly Billy's..I crave their bagel sandwich!
