St. John activities???

I will be going to St. John in June. It's my first time there and I would like some recommendations. Price isn't a consideration, however I will only be there for seven days. Any advice would be much appreciated.

St. John is 3/4 national park. It has great hiking, incredible beaches with good snorkeling. Other than that, it's a sleepy place with a few good restaurants and limited shopping. However, you are a ferry ride away from busy St. Thomas or even better- Tortola and Virgin Gorda.

Rent a dinghy and drive it to Waterlemon Cay to snorkel and then tour the bays as you return to Cruz bay. Snorkel at Haulover Bay. Eat a Lucy's, Shipwreck Landing. Hike to Reef Bay. Snorkel at Salt Pond Bay after an invigorating hike to the tip of Ram's Head. Try to "stay lef Mon" and not freak out on the steep switchback roads (by all means rent a 4WD). Watch the sunset over St. Thomas. Take a day sail to The Baths. Try the local rum. Really, be prepared to relax.

If you have had ANY experience with a boat, I would rent a boat from Nauti Nymph. We had only lake boating experience and Nauti Nymph did not have a problem. The waters between the BVI and St. John are usually calm enough. Renting that boat was the best part of our trip. You can travel to the BVIs, find private beaches, eat lunch on the Willy T, snorkel at the Indians, all on you own schedule. If I recall, we spent about 450 dollars including gas and insurance. Expensive, but worth it. If you don't have any experience, I think you can hire a captain for a half day and have him teach you.
There are also some sailing lessons around St. John, but I don't have any info on that.

Have fun!!
