St. John - Cruz View Villas or Lavender Hills
Can anyone tell me some pros and cons, or general advice, on Cruz View Villas vs. Lavender Hills on St. John? Both seem walking distance to town with virtually the same amenities. Is one better than the other? Thanks for your feedback.

We hve stayed at Lavnder Hill- this is a very easy walk to town-maybe three minute- they are spacious with lots of balcony space and a nice pool-the neighborhood is nice- they can be noisy late at night and early in the morning from the Harbor and town noises. I have driven past Cruz Views and while this may be an ok walk downhill I think that it is probably a killer walk back-otherwise I can't say. Good luck.

Altho we haven't stayed at either place I'd like to recommend you take Hamilton's Tour of the island. It will be a good overview and, last I knew, included a swim stop on the drier side of the island: Salt (whoops forgot the whole name). We made staying on St John a trip to try out a new beach each day. If you are taking public transportation you will want to make sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water. We camped at Maho so we brought food with us anyways and bought more at the camp store or shop in town. Make sure to try a pate and a caribbean lobster. If you are snorkeling, I'd suggest you bring your own mask and flippers. The snorkeling is fabulous. <BR>
