Casino hotel in Bahamas
I know nothing about the Bahamas or gambling, but my 87-year-old mother would like me to take her from Ft. Lauderdale to the Bahamas for a gambling trip (she doesn't like the casinos in FL). I'm looking for recommendations for a casino hotel that's easy to get to and has blackjack and slots in the low price range.

Atlantis on Paradise Island (a stones thrown away from Nassau) has a casino. To my knowledge it is the only casino in the Bahamas, I could be wrong.
By the way, the beach is beautiful. It will give you something to do if you don't want to hang around the casino.

Isle of Capri is in Freeport, Grand Bahama, and Crystal Palace (Wyndham)is at Cable Beach, just outside Nassau.
Crystal Palace has lower price range than Atlantis, but it's got the feel of RENO. Atlantis feels like midscale Vegas.

There is a casino on Freeport and it's pretty easy to get there from Ft. Lauderdale, since there is The Discovery Cruise Line that goes from Ft. Lauderdale to GBI.
There is a casino at the new Our Lucaya and I think there is still a casino at the older resort, used to be the Princess, but it has gone through a few changes, not sure what the name is now.
Hope this helps.

Isle of Capri is locasted at Our Lucaya on GBI, a short 25-35 minute flight from Lauderdale. Plenty of nickel and quarter slots. You'll have a hard time finding blackjack tables with a minimum under $10 but they do have them sometimes during weekdays. Royal Oasis, the former Princess, had a completely remodeled casino on GBI also, but they are closed from hurricane damage (and mismanagement IMHO) until at least April 1st and probably much longer. You will NOT find lower stakes tables or slots in Cable Beach and especially not in the Atlantis Casino.

There is a huge problem in the Atlantis recommendations when you take into account the original posting here. They never heard of a "low price range" at the Atlantis casino, unless you consider $25 minimums "low price range".
