you don't need a jeep if you are planning to stay on paved roads in Croix. The Beast is steep with a few switchbacks, but it is nothing like the crazy switchbacks on some of the mountain roads on Tortola, where a four-wheel drive jeep is almost a necessity. You won't have any problem handling the road with a normal car, although it is best to take it the first time in daylight!
