You've probably had more than enough responses to your inquiry. However, my husband and I have travelled to the USVIs many time and have a son who lives on St. Croix. Personally, I would skip fodors and go to usvi-on-line.com and go to their forum on St.Croix. From our experience, whether it's the US, Europe,or wherever, the fodorites are not the most accurate source of first hand experience, and tend to be just a little "snooty". Just my opinion. Take it ALL with a grain of salt.

She has probably all ready vacationed there and has returned. Susan is probably sorry she ever asked.

Haven't left yet, but have booked the Buccanneer resort for May, hopefully will not be disappointed in the Island or the resort. It will be a new adventure and island for us, and next year will be another. Never go to the same place twice as there are so many fun places! Thank you all for your advice, keep on submitting info if you desire! Thanks, Susan

We love St.Croix and will be making our 4th visit there in as many years. We stay at the Buccaneer and the staff and accomodations are top notch. We shop at Christensen which is a lovely, clean town--no one hassels you on the street to buy things.Like anyplace else in the Carribean you have to use your head about where to go at night. We use the same taxi driver for the entire stay and consequently heed his advice about the island.Every year when planning our winter get away the eight of us discuss trying someplace else, but always come back to the Buccaneer--we haven't been disappointed yet.
