St. Barts Trip Report 7/2008
I must say that in no way was I prepared for how much I would love St. Barts... Having recently been to Anguilla (CJ), St. John (Caneel), Harbour Island (Runaway Hill) and Nevis (Nisbet Plantation) I didn't realize that St. Barts could be so unique to all of those islands...it was amazing!
The dollar was certainly weak however it did not put a damper our trip. The beaches were incredible, and we had a stellar villa called Les Jardins De Emmanuel (villa photos below) owned by Rosita Magras that was brand new. It blew us away- marble and granite everywhere, pool + plunge pool for watching the sunset. The views were over Lorient and St. Jean. No detail was left unnoticed- it was a remarkable villa with a fantastic location.
Our all-time favorite meals were at The Strand (rooftop!) for dinner, Nikki Beach for lunch, and Le Tamarin for dinner. Our favorite beaches were Nikki Beach and Gourvernor. Our new favorite island, is without a doubt, St. Barth!

Hi all,
Here is the website for the villa http://www.vrbo.com/189549. The rates are also listed here.
The owner, Rosita Magras, is very well known on the island and I cannot tell you enough great things about our experience with her. When I reserved the villa (it was a bit last minute) she told me to just pay when I arrived! She has a few other villas as well on the island. Rosita picked us up from the airport and even had dinner for us in the fridge when we arrived...complete with a menu!
As for the question about liking St.B better than Anguilla...it is hard to really compare the two since they are pretty much completely different. But, what I did enjoy about St.B was that it was mountainous and it had a really "special" feeling that Anguilla also has that it is hard to put into words. I think I really enjoyed the fact that it was so different from the other islands...including that everyone was French and were so pleasant.
PS: I hear Cap Juluca is getting remodeled... we can't wait to return to check it out!
