You might want to post your question on the St. B Barth's forum at www.sbhonline.com - the website has tons of information about St. barth's and the forum is very active with lots of St. Barth's experts.

Hi
I now have a couple of names of places to stay in Gustavia St Barts which is where I really want to stay. Could anyone comment on the Condo COLONY CLUB and the VILLA JUSTIN. I will also check the sbonline.com site too.
Thank you

Hi Kappy- Is there a particular reason you want to stay in Gustavia?

Kappy Nov 22nd, 2009 04:37 PM

Yes. We like being in the city center and a short walk to the shops and shell beach. We will be renting a car to travel to explore the other parts of the island. We did consider St. Jean as an alternative but it is to close to the airport and a distance from Gustavia. We like having a kitchen areas so we do not want to stay in a hotel. It looks like staying in a condo is the way to stay in Gustavia for 2 persons as far as we can tell so far.

There are many shops and restaurants in St. Jean as well and that is my favorite beach. I think the airport adds to the fun. I don't know if you're aware that only very small (under 20 passenger) planes can fly into St. Barths so "plane watching" can be of the island highlights.
There are a couple of great large grocery stores in St. Jean and the wonderful Maya's to Go is there.
I think having a car is essential on the island, but do think about your choice.
We love having a private pool, which you may be able to find in your price range, and everything is close in St. Barths.
Have you been on the sbhonline.com site?
