St. Barth's now
We ahve visited St. Barth's over many years. The last time was 3 years ago and we found it getting sort of crowded and dirty. Has it gotten any better?
I hope so because we are going there on our honeymoon in Nov. and staying at the Francois Plantation.

Do you know that place?

We were in St Barts in Jan and it definately is not dirty. It is our paradise. Genteel, elegant, excellent restaurants and beaches. The people are friendly. Very French.
Francois Plantation is an elegant small hotel up in the hills. Great restaurant. Not close to anything though.
Good luck.

I would never go back to St. Barth, there are so many other wonderful islands, and for what we got I thought it was very expensive. Our room on Le Petit was sort of a HOJO reject room and it was far from everything.

The island is very beautiful and some of the beaches are spectacular, but I felt that we could have gotten more for our money on another island.

The one thing I found very interesting was the cemetery. It was almost a happy place, lots of flowers and by tradition there are weekly visits by
family members.

Hope you enjoy your trip.

Yes, Tweedy, you certainly could have gotten a lot more on other Caribbean islands: Much more poverty, unscenic areas and vistas, and filth!!!
