St Barths

Going back to St. Barths in April after a three year hiatus. Any great new restaurants or things I need to know about?

I'm going in March - I'll let you know

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

We were there last two weeks of November. Really enjoyed a new resturant called L'Ocean. It is in Gustavia about across the street from Au Port which is still one of our favorite resturants for the value. The original Eddy's Ghetto is under new management again, but still good. It is now owned by Philip and his wife (he was the waiter with the handle bar mustache). Sure is a shame the Prodigy bulletin boards have "died".

Just wanted to get this posting back up to the top! Surely there are some people just coming back from St. Barth's who can give us some advice?!

My favorite reasonable restaraurnt recently reopened in Flammands - La Langouste. There is a new restarauant down the Street from Eddies, I think it is called DOM, it's very good. I like Le Patio in St. Jean. The Wall House is good as is Chez Maya. Vincent Adam is great! Have Fun!

Just came back from St. Bart - Best dinner was Vincent Adams. Le Patio was very good. Had a bad dinner at La Sapotillier (maybe it was a bad night). Dinner was fair at La Marine. Excellent lunchtime pizza at La Saladine. For dessert, go to "Breakfast, Lunch, and Ice Cream".

As Promised. The only thing better than a week on St. Barth is two weeks. I didn’t really notice any new restaurants. But we tried a few that we didn’t get to last year.

Mayas is still excellent and by far, I think, the best value on the island. The chocolate cake is to die.
If you haven’t gone to La Marine for the mussels on Thursday - go. It’s fantastic.
Food at the West Indies Cafe was very good - but the cabaret show was a bit much.
Le Patio was also very good. Even my husband, the pasta expert, thought so.
Eden Rock - I wasn’t impressed
Vincent Adam is right up there with Mayas. I had the potato crepe with smoked salmon appetizer - wonderful
Franqois Plantation was as always excellent, but very expensive. About $300 for the two of us (with a bottle of wine) and we didn’t even go for the after dinner cigar this year.
The Jungle Cafe - don’t bother

FYI - the island is having a sever water shortage. So take a good long hot shower before you go
