Spring Break trip for teenage girls & moms

I'm trying to find a good safe beach venue to take teenage girls who are not interested in the typical party scene for Spring Break. Any suggestions?

hi stonemama, if you could give us a bit more info we can help you better.
as the girls are not into nightlife what are they into? snorkeling, diving, horseback, zip-lines, tennis, shopping?
i think either an all-inclusive or a villa might be good choices for you.
an ai would allow them to do activities without you supervising all the time. a villa with pool might be a lot of fun and good bonding for all; but you might end up cooking more often.
most ai's are on jamaica, dominican republic or maya riviera coast south of cancun, but almost every island has a couple.

I think they will be happy just hanging out together, at the beach, pool, spa, etc. Some are probably more adventurous than others, and may try some of the other things, like snorkeling, ziplines, etc., and of course shopping is always good. I've never been to an AI, but agree that they sound like a good idea. Otherwise, I think we would be looking for a pretty self contained resort of some kind. We do want to be able to let them go by themselves some of the time, without worry.....Are there any particular ones that are better than the others?

Barcelo Maya Palace or Barcelo Colonial/Tropical, all part of the same huge resort, but just different price levels. This resort is abourt 55 miles south of Cancun.
