Is the location good? <BR> <BR>Is beach good? <BR> <BR>Is the property nice?

Dave <BR>If you mean Southern Palms in Barbados then the answers are <BR> <BR>1.Location is very good. A five minute walk to St. Lawrence Gap area for nightlife. <BR>2. The beach is great with a good surf for boogie boarding. <BR>3. The property is nice, the rooms are on the plain side, but clean. <BR> <BR>Food is expensive and so-so but there are other places to eat within walking distance. You also get a small fridge in your room so you can stock up at the convenience store.

Hi <BR>We got married at Southern Palms in 1986. <BR>Room was plain, but fine. Beach was excellent. Good windsurfing. Staff were really great, fell over backwards to make our wedding the best day for us. May have changed in the last 15 years, of course, but we will be going back. <BR>Only ate in the restaurant once as there were lots of places to eat locally. <BR>

We just returned from Southern Palms! I really liked the hotel and grounds. The beach is also beautiful. Would have preferred to stay on the Holetown side of the island instead... much nicer. St. Lawrence has all the nightlife, but be careful of walking the streets at night - very narrow and no sidewalk. Everywhere on the island is extremely expensive, so beware! The food at the hotel was good (other restaurants had slow service: the bajan way). Expect to spend a lot of money no matter what. You can get a room with a full kitchen (small markets are down the street). Have a great time. Any more questions, just email me.

<BR>If you rent a car, go to the grocery store (there are several) rather than the mini marts and save a lot. Or save more & take food in. You can carry snacks, canned goods, cereal, even a frozen turkey. Personally, I'd not lug a turkey to the tropics, but there are those who do, especially at Thanksgiving. We mainly take snacks & cereal.
