Hello!
We are staying here Feb. 2009. Can anyone send me dining suggestions in the Maho Bay area? We'd prefer to stay close to the resort at night. Thank you! Jane

I can't refer any specific restaurant as I only stayed there one night, however there are tons of nice looking places just outside the hotels doors. You won't have to go far.

there are several.
within the area and within walking distance, i would recommend La Rosas 2 for Italian and Moulin fou for french
and pizza pasta for trattoria Italian dining.
I also recommend Bajatszu, an excellent steak house.
There are many others within a short drive from the resort in either the Atlantis Casino complex or the Simpson bay area. Both of those areas are 5 minutes away and have a heavy concentration of very good restaurants.

Bamboo Bernie's right in the Maho center has excellent sushi. Don't miss Rare and Temptation at the Atlantis, a short taxi ride away at the Atlantis casino.

here is a review, we just returned from Sonesta Maho Beach, had a fantastic time! stayed here 2/21-2/28/09, had a blast! don't listen to the negative reviews, we are fussy people and have traveled to the islands and cruised. beautiful property, very friendly people, cheryl and ramon-excellent bartenders, we only ate once at the hotel, breakfast-very good buffet. eat in maho vlg, don't do the AI. bajatzu, soprano's, romantica, la moulin fu. cheri's (great entertainment), bothouse in simpson bay, fashion cafe for breakfast, sunset beach car is a must and also driftwood bar, you will LOVE the planes, beach is coming back slowly, rough waters, but beautiful. safe to take a bus or taxi around the island, we only did this during the day. enjoy!
