Some Provo Questions
1. Best way to get from the airport to the resort...cab? WEe are staing at RWI. How much will this be approximately? We will likely rent a car for a day to explore but not the whole time. I plan to rely on the Gecko bus most of the time. Or walk...we will be bringing an all-terrain stroller.
2. Best restaurants that we can bring a baby to? So far, I am thinking we will try Shark Bite, Barefoot cafe, Hemingways and Coyaba. Suggestions please! 3. Are there any excursions we can do with a 1 year old? Most of oour time will be be spent enjoying the beach/water and eating! But I also want to go to coral gardens for snorkeling, hit the conch farm and explore the island (Sapodilla Bay) one day when we have the car. Any other suggestions? 4. I plan on bringing all the baby supplies we need, but if we run out, can i buy most things at the IGA? 5. Does RWI have grills? 6. We are traveling April 20 - 26. What is the weather typically like then? Thanks so much!!! I got an awesome new camera for Christmas so hopefully I will have lots of great pics to share when I return! |
Hi
We will be there at the same time. I would bring the baby out to eat everywhere you mentioned But the Coyaba its a romantic place, you may not want to bring the baby there. The RWI may have a shuttle from the Airport, if not the ask for pricing before you go with a taxi, they all have differant prices.Renting a car for a couple days is a great idea, not much to see the island is all about the beach and the Gecko may be all you need. There are no sidewalks so be careful with the stroller, if you have a baby carrier that may work out better. I find Caicos Drean tours to be a good excursion company, they run out of the Alexandra Resort and the Palms. Coral Gardens is great also. The IGA has just about everything you would find in supermarket back home. |
Thanks. I just picked Coyaba because I heard it was supposed to be very good and that you could bring kids before 7 pm...
Where are you staying? |
We are staying at the Alexandra , it is at the other end of Grace Bay, If you are interested I could ask my niece if she would be interested in babysitting for you so you could enjoy a night out. She is 24 and an elementry school teacher.
We have a 5 year old and a 9 year old and bring her along for the extra pair of eyes. Let me know and we can set up a meeting for you. |
Kristen
I am sorry I just remembered she leaves on the 23 of April. We go down for two weeks and usually she goes for the whole time. But this year she could only go on school vacation week so she will be leaving on Sunday the 23rd |
Thanks for offering anyway...that was very nice of you :-)
Maybe we will run into you all there. Where are you from? |
Massachusetts
My niece is a teacher in Concord Mass. We have been going to the Turks and Caicos for 14 years now. We love it. |
hi kristen,
1. rwi does have a shuttle available. call/e to let them know you need a ride. 2. yes to all those plus tiki hut at turtle cove marina. and i love aqua bar in the same area. 3. when you go to sopadilla go a little further down chalk sound road turn left when you see a small sign for ocean point villas on the left. just before the stone pillars on either side of the road turn onto a small sand road to the right. just a couple 100 yards to taylor bay beach. very pretty, VERY shallow. 4. yes. 2 full size groceries on island 5. ? 6. it will be hot. bring plenty of sunscreen and hats, maybe a tiny umbrella for the baby. the whole island is sand which reflects alot of light. oh so easy to burn. make sure you keep the baby hydrated too. twice as much water as usual. for adults too. |
