So what do people really think of the Bahamas?
Been struggling sometime w/ whether to wed there at the Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island or Sandals in Nassau or Ocean Club in Paradise Island. Looking for worthy tourist things to do so friends won't be bored, but beautiful beaches. My concern is Sandals and Our Lucaya is huge and too many people around the ceremony and Ocean Club is so expensive. But what I really want from you is were people happy with their vacations on these islands? Just tell me what you thought about your vacation here.
Thanks alot!

My daughter is getting married at Sandals royal Bahamian on May 5, 2001.
You have 2 choices, you can get married at the resort or on the private island. The Island is very private, it has a gazebo with trumpiter angles nx to it. The resort itself is beautiful and the staff does everything possible to make sure your days the best it can be. There are private places also at the resort like in the gardens and out on the piers where it is just you and whom ever is there standing up. We seen quite a few wedding while we were there and everybody seemed to be very pleased.
Its a beautiful resort they offer lots of outside excursions, we swam with the dolphins, took a dinner cruise, toured Atlantis, Shopped an took a buggy ride through town. We had a wonderful time we will return there! Am off to Sandals St.Lucia Golf & Spa resort on Feb 25, 2001.

If I was looking for a place for my wedding I'd go to Compass Point. My wife and our family celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary there last year. It was our 2nd visit and we're going for our 3rd in June. It is very beautiful. On our 1st visit we saw a wedding ceremony on their beautiful dock at sunset. The only negative thing I have to say about Nassua is the taxis are a BIG rip-off, make sure you know the price before you agree to a ride.

Maya, I would agree with Compas Point as a perfect wedding spot and honeymoon. The accomodations are villas right on the beach, great restaurant there and an easy ride on the "bus" to downtown Nassau.
There will be more choices for people to stay on Nassau than Freeport and lots to see and do.
You can arrange evening cruises and day snorkle trips for your group, or take the fast ferry over to Harbour Island for a day.
Also when you get to your hotel, there are LOTS of brochures of things to see and do on Nassau so I would doubt that anyone will be bored.
Have a fun trip. Let me know if you need more info on the Bahamas.
