I've missed out on this thread somehow...I can't believe nobody has named the Pelican Bar, just off the coast between Black River and Treasure Beach in Jamaica! It's about 1/4 mile offshore on stilts, so you really do have a wonderful view of the water all around. Extremely laid back, I could spend a few hours there with a Red Stripe and the company of my traveling companions and the bartender. There's even a solar-powered blender there for folks who want a fruity frou-frou drink!

Nobody has mentioned Karel's on Bonaire. You can see tons of fish from the deck. It's a great place.

"Oh I wish I was there tonight on Jost Van Dyke,
Sipping on some Foxy's Firewater rum!
Or kickin' back...
With all my friends down in the islands!
Wouldn't take much for me to up and run
To another life somewhere in the sun..."

Obviously everyone has their favorites, but I really don't think there is a "Best".

The best one in my opinion is what-ever place I decide to stop for a drink during any vacation. As long as it's warm, there's palm trees, and water, it's the best at that particular moment.

I have yet to try a tropical beach bar I didn't like....

Without a doubt - Soggy Dollar Bar at White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is the quintessential Caribbean Beach bar, by all the most common definitions!

There is absolutely nothing better than sipping on a Painkiller there, looking at the incomparable vista of White Bay while playing "ringtoss" and listening to Reuben Chinnery play and sing his particular kind of Caribbean magic on a Sunday afternoon!

Oh wait! Yes, there is!

It's sipping on a Painkiller, after just finishing a game of "ringtoss", while lazing in your own hammock as a guest at the "Sandcastle", 40 feet away from Reuben, listening to him do his magic and looking at White Bay on a Sunday afternoon! Can you spell P E R F E C T ?

Now, that's about as perfect as one could possibly want!

Ok, how can I get to Jost Van Dyke via
air?

We have NWA "north worst" miles and nothing is available in Oct-Nov
or United ....

Trying to go cheap on air since we like to eat good and drink ALOT....

Turtle Beach Bar and Grill in St. Kitts has great views. As someone else said, every bar is great in the Caribbean.
