Snorkeling in Turks & Caicos

We're considering a trip to the Turks &Caicos just for snorkeling. Is there good snorkeling off the beaches with easy access; do you need to go out in a boat; if a boat, do you go with divers or are there special snorkel trips?
Any suggestions for a resort nearest good snorkeling? Thanks for any help!

In Provo there are two good off shore snorkel spots. Smiths Reef and Bight Reef commonly known as White House. There is excellent snorkeling from boats and there are many trips to choose from. You can find them in the local things to see and do book that you can pick up at the airport or hotel. We have always had good luck booking snorkel trips with Dive Provo.

The place to stay closest to off shore snorkeling is Coral Gardens/White House. The reef is just steps away.

Hi Betty, I second the vote for White House Reef. I enjoy Provo for diving, but will often go snorkeling at White House Reef where I see far more marine life at times than when I go on a dive.

Have fun!
