Snorkeling - from the beach?
We are planning a trip to the Carribean in June or July 1999 with one of the major requirements being good snorkeling with access from the beach. Any suggestions and recommendations? Please be specific about the location you're talking about. Thanks.

Good question -here's my current list of favorites in no particular order:
Hawksnest in Antigua
Caneel Bay in St. John
Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda
Presidente in Cozumel
Sapphire Beach in St. Thomas
All of these hotels have excellent snorkeling at their beaches.
Best from shore snorkeling I've ever seen is on Bonaire. You can walk in anywhere and it's great. No need to use a boat unless you want to go to Klein Bonaire.

Right at the hotels, any of them, is great snorkeling.
