Snorkeling at the Baths

We will be in Tortola on a cruise ship stop from 2-10 PM. Wanted to make a trip to the Baths, but don't know if that is possible at these times. Does anyone know of a good tour company who would take us there - other than the one offered on the ship? How strenuous is snorkeling at the Baths? Thanks!

The Baths is not really a snorkle spot. The area is sandy with no reefs immediately nearby that I am aware of. The Baths are a bunch of enormous rocks in interesting formations that you walk through and climb up into (there are stairways etc.)on Virgin Gorda.

We did a charter through New Horizons II where we visited the Baths but were taken to other places for snorkling.

Actually, we love snorkeling at the Baths. It is not terrific for amateurs though. We go out from the beach called Devil's Bay (I think) which is reached by going through the passage in the rocks. All the tour companies will take you to this spot. Devil's Bay is on the other side of this passage. It's a nice sandy beach. We swim along the rocks out towards the end of the bay. It is neat to see these huge boulder structures underwater. At the end of this little bay/cove, the water is about 20-30 feet deep. If you are not comfortable swimming in deep water for an extended amount of time, you could take a float or swimming noodle to give you assistance. It is not the most fish active spot to be sure, but it is a unique experience swimming around these geological formations. IMO, it is a worthwhile trip.
