Snorkeling at Ritz St. Thomas?

Anyone done any beach snorkeling here? My wife and I like to laze around snorkeling off the beach--does not have to be wonderful, but would like to know if any fish, coral at all or just plain sand? Thanks!

We are headed there on Friday and have a beach snorkel trip with a dive shop booked for Sunday.

I will let you know when I return:)

It's not great -- more rocky than reefy. If you go around to the right of the beach you should see some decent fish along the rocks. I think a snorkel trip with one of their charters is definitely worth the money. You might also consider lunch and a snorkel at Secret Harbor, just up the road.

Jimmie is correct. The beach at ST Ritz is not the best for snorkeling. Just catch the ferry in Red Hook and go to St. John for the day to snorkel. Trunk Bay has an underwater trail. Make sure you don't go on a day that a cruise ship is in town.
