snorkeling

I am handicapped and I'm really looking for a nice place to snorkel right off the beach I don't really like to take the boat rides to reefs.

Look into renting a private villa or staying at Mango Bay Resort (don't let the name confuse you it is located on Mahoe Bay)on Mahoe Bay on Virgin Gorda. There's a series of three reefs running parallel to the shore for the entire lenth of the 3/4 mile long beach. The first reef begins about 150' off shore and the furthest reef is probably 5 to 600' off shore. The snorkeling is first rate, lots of colorful coral and tons of fish.

How about Provo, Turks & Caicos? Coral Gardens is a resort that people flock to snorkel right off of their beach. We stayed at the Allegro last year and loved it. Provo is so beautiful and Grace Bay can't be beat. Good luck with your vacation research!

Look into Bonaire. Almost all their snorkeling is from shore.

Do consider our resort (The Reef, www.thereef.com.ky), we have world class snorkelling right off the beach.

We are also considered to be very accessible...ie well beyond the standard requirements...or that is what numerous of our handicapped guests have told us.

We are in fact working with a handicapped repeat guest (who is quite the entrepreneur) to have him assist us in making our resort further accessible.
