Small luxury resort still available for February?

My wife and I are unexpectedly able to get away for a week anytime in late January to the end of February. We'd love to go to a small, luxury beach front resort somewhere in the Caribbean (not Belize or Mexico). The only real requirement is that it would have to be a direct flight from Newark or JFK. I suspect that most of the places I can think of have already booked up for months. Any suggestions?

Cayman Airways flies up to five times per week non-stop from JFK, and Continental every Saturday from Newark.

Flights are filling up fast (and fares going up), so move fast.

If you want small, luxury, beachfront... suggest Hyatt Beach Suites... 53 suites only, and great location in central Seven Mile Beach.

Hyatt is stepping down from managing this property at the end of this year, but the property is lovely, this move has nothing to do with the property itself, simply that it is too small to fit the Hyatt model.

What about Jade Mountain in St Lucia, The House in Barbados or The Beach in Barbuda? Frequent direct flights to Barbados and St Lucia from NY. Barbuda you would have to fly in to Antigua and then either fly or ferry to Barbuda.

You can't beat Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda. Not a direct flight tho.........change of planes in San Juan for Tortola and then Little Dix picks you up for a 15 min.boat ride from the airport.

How about the new Verandah resort in Antigua? It opens in January and may well have space available.

Jamaica Inn is small and special but very likely full.
