Singles resort, but upscale?

We're planning a group island vacation for both singles and couples. Looking for a fun all-inclusive resort with nightlife but somewhat upscale. Loved the Club Med concept in our 20's but have gotten tired of the crappy accomodations. Cancun is too spring break for us and Hedo is not for us. I've gotten a few recommendations for Grand Lido Nigril, Paradsius and Barcelo Barvaro Palace in Punta Cana. Have also read a little about Breezes in the Bahamas being a singles spot... but not that nice. Does anyone have any other suggestions???

GL Negril is a absolutely beautiful resort and luxurious to boot but nightlife there is very quiet. I would think GL Braco would be better for your needs.

My sister went to Paradisus and while they had a wonderful time, the rooms ae not what American's would consider luxurious at all but clean and comfortable. The resort she said is huge - they have a tram to take you everywhere. While she really enjoyed the proerty, the water was very choppy and rough - mush calmer onthe other side of the island.

I have heard positives about Breezes Runaway but stay away from Breezes MoBay

I stayed at Breezes Runaway Bay in Jamaica, and it was very nice. I found it kind of quite, only one pool, and the rooms were very basic. My manager was there in a busier time of year and said it was upbeat then, but when we went in Novemeber, it was very quite.

Have you thought about La Source in Grenada? It's very upscale and the price includes one spa treatmnet per day,the ladies will love this,in addition to scuba diving, fencing, archery, water sking and a host of other land and water sports and activities. There isn't a single supplement so many singles to be found at the resort. The drinks are all topshelf, and the food is great, buffet for breakfast, lunch and tea, a la carte for dinner with the exception of the bar b que.

Nightlife tends to peter off a bit early, by 12 most guests are in bed BUT the piano bar does not close until the last guest leaves, and there is a disco there on Sunday and a band on Saturday. Friday nights it's a steelband at the poolside bar b que.

There are several nightclubs off the resort such as The Boatyard, The Base and the Friday night hang out at True Blue's bar.

If you go for their Carnival, which is the second week in August there are MANY parties and events to keep you occupied. Lots of dancing and revelry.

You can also look into their sister resort on St.Lucia cale Le Sport.
