Single Traveler should Do?
 

Im going on vacation to puerto rico by myself and im not sure of what I should do as far as activities and night life. I have family out there but Im staying at a tourist boutique hotel in isla verde. I originally had plans to go with someone but that changed and Im not willing to cancel flights and bookings for the change. So I'm doing a solo mission. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do when Im there. I want to have a good time but Im not sure if I can do that alone. I will visit family then Ill try to get into something fun. Plus ill be the bday girl so..I have to make this a special trip. All suggestions welcomed

I would suggest planning to do
a few things with a group......
perhaps sailing, hiking, historical or rainforest tours.
Celebrate your birthday with a spa treatment or indulge in a piece of artwork to remember this trip.

I am curious about going to puerto rico alone. Looking at Jan and a cheap get away but safe. I am 42 and need to speak spanish, thus the trip. Any feedback would be appreciated.

but for starters:
Check out Old San Juan: 2 forts, small cathedral, several squares, several museums, plenty of restaurants and a lot more - http://www.visit-the-coqui.com/2008/...n-juan-part-1/

You can tour the city on foot, segway or horse and carriage

Drive out to El Yunque rainforest (45 mins east of San Juan) either rent a car or take an organized tour. Plenty of trails to hike (all well marked) http://www.visit-the-coqui.com/places-to-see/el-yunque/

Get there early and spend the afternoon at Luquillo beach (close by) also check out the roadside kiosks there

Head to Fajardo and check out the Bio Bay there (you can kayak into the bay) or take an evening cruise over to Vieques to see the Bio Bay there (this one you can swim in).
