Single - Safe - Caribbean???

Where should a single female go to? Looking for relaxation, some adventure, culture & great food. Obviously safety being the main issue. On a moderate budget, it stinks to pay for a hotel with one person. (Already been to Jamaica, PR & Bahamas.) Thanks!!

Oh, also thought about Cabo San Lucas. Suggestions?

I'd do Playa del Carmen. It has everything you are looking for and is very safe. You can get reasonable hotels, food is fantastic at the local restaurants and you are close to so many places for excursions. Reasonable hotels are Luna Blue, Playa Maya, Mosquito Blue.

I'm female too and have travelled to several Caribbean islands myself and would not hesitate to go to many other destinations on a solo trip. For what you are seeking, I'd suggest you consider Barbados (South Coast) or St. Lucia (Rodney Bay area).

"Moderate" is a relative term and is subjective, but by St. Lucia standards, a good option for a moderately priced hotel is the Coco Palm resort in Rodney Bay. Depending on time of year and specials, you should be able to get a room there for under $150. Although I would not recommend the hotel where I stayed in Barbados, the South coast offers more moderate prices and good proximity to restaurants and activities.

I also suggest you check out Barbados. Everywhere has some percentage of crime, but I came away with the feeling that Barbados was one of the safest destinations I've traveled to so far. Also it's got so many things to see and do as well as very nice beaches.
