You only go this way once and can't take it with you. . .

For that amount of money, you could go to Hawaii, and be guaranteed two weeks of beautiful sunny days.

You can do a lot with $10,000 on vacation. Are St Lucia and St. John your #1 choices? Also, wonder if you have been to either before? If I were spending that much on 1 trip, I would want to be fairly cetain that I would love the destination. Let us know what travel plan you come up with and...ENJOY!! As far as spending that much...I'd do it in a heartbeat!

Summer, been to both. Spent it. Just wondering if others think it is worth it? I think it was, just a lot of dough!

If your 10k budget for two weeks for 4 includes air, that's a US$98/per diem per person -- which is neither lavish nor sinful, but reasonable. If 10k excludes air, your spending money seems about US$1,000 on the high side, if you factor food/drinks at villa at about US$30 pp/day. Compare the cost with say,two weeks at Disney or Atlantis and your choice of destinations -- and experience == is a better buy.
I'd opt for St.Lucia over St.John (more for less money) unless your primary focus is snorkelling.

I am sure you have worked hard for your money, don't feel guilty, if this is what you want to do, do it and have fun!
