Siboney Beach Club Vs. Antigua Village

Has anyone stayed at either Siboney or Antigua Village and if so, which do you prefer? We want a laid-back hotel w/ charm on a nice beach w/ beach bars nearby. Not looking for aything too touristy and definitely not an all-inclusive large hotel.

We have not stayed at either but did tour both as we stayed down the beach. They are actually right next door to each other. Antigua Village is much larger in size. It is a condo set up of sorts and most are in the gardens. Not a real attractive set up. Looked rather dry - no lush foliage. Does cater to alot of families.

Siboney is very tiny. There is a small pool surronded by gardens - alot more lush and tropical but very small. Very private.

There is a small beach restaurant - very casual next door and a bar.

I have stayed at Barrymore Beach Club on Runaway Bay for the last few years. Sounds exactly what you want.

Siboney is not a 'hotel', it does not have charm or a nice beach! No beach actually when we were there, just a little strip of sand.
The pool area was nasty! Terrible odor. The "suite" was very, very small & looked into the property next door ( Maybe Antigua Village?). The bathroom was gross. We ended up going someplace else.
