Should we rent a car?
What is the advisability of renting a car in Anguilla? We like to explore but are concerned about not being able to find restaurants etc., due to the lack of signage. I am looking for opinions. Thanks

A car is very advisable. Things are not that hard to find. Drive around in the daytime first with a road map to get your bearings and you won't have much trouble.

Hi!
Taxis are expensive but if you're on a pretty beach and there are some good restaurants around, you don't necessarily need a car. It can be cheaper to call a cab from time to time.
If you do rent a car, don't forget to drive on the left side of the road. ;)

Have fun,

Michelle

We rented a car for a couple of days and found out that it was absolutely no problem and kept it longer!! Driving was NOT a problem at all - directions were a bit challenging but everyone was great when we stopped and asked. We found it advantageous to check out the dinner spots (Straw Hat and others - who would think at the end of those un-roads, there are great beaches and restaurants!!) during daylite so not to be confused at nite!!

Randi, my husband and I spend our honeymoon last May at the Sonesta. We rented a jeep for $40 a day and kept it the whole time. Touring the island is great and having your own vehicle is a must. There are so many wonderful beaches to see, but you must be willing to travel down the mail streets and backroads without a worry. Just start driving, don't look at a map and enjoy. Just watch out for goats! Junk Hole is very secluded and we spend an afternoon without seeing a single person. Sandy Ground is beautiful, as well as Shoal Bay and Island Harbour. Enjoy!
