Should we bring insect repellent to St. John ?
We'll be there end of April & beginning of May. Thanks.

Yes! You need a product with at least 21% DEET. The regular Off did not work for me.

While early in the year is the dryer season, better safe than sorry. Take repellant or get it there if you find the insects are a problem.

Do not leave it home! Weather and wind determine the skeeters and no see em aggressiveness and it is better to be safe than sorry. It is expensive if you have to buy it there.

Yes, bring 100% deet in a small mister bottle. Went to St John in late Feb. last year and there were no-see-ums in the shade at the beaches. They wouldn't follow you into the sun but were quickly upon you in the shade. Deet worked well. Never had a problem with them outdoors at our villa (Second Wind), only at the beaches. Others have reported no problem so, it probably has to do with the time of year. Returning to St. John in a month and WILL be packin' 100% Deet.
