Shopping in Bermuda

Any recommendations for interesting places to shop in Bermuda? I'll be leaving next week for a 5 day trip and always enjoy a shopping break or two!
Thank you..

The shopping in BDA is not the "deal" it was years ago. The best buys are still local cedar crafts, perfume, crystal and china. Some cashmere is also a good deal. If you are thinking watches, etc, price them before you leave. All that said, I still enjoy shopping at Blucks, AS Coopers, Calypso, Ceciles and the Island Shop. You will find all of them on Front Street in Hamilton. One of my favorite stores is the Irish Linen Shop. A great gift is the $6-9 tea towels in gorgeous colors and prints.
Enjoy your trip, Bermuda is another world.

Hey:

Ooh do I love Bermuda & shopping. Going to try & go this summer. When I was there in October I spent a lot of time observing, shopping and taking notes along Front St. I did move into the interior and go into the shops along the sides streets (they're plenty) and stumbled across a small mall. Was on a budget so I had to haggle and was able to obtain a whistling frog charm for my bracelet (little hobby of mine collecting charms) from a really nice jewler. His shop was "up in the cut" in these little sliver/cobblestone alleys that open up onto Front St.

A lot of walking (wear comfortable shoes) from shop to shop, but obtained hand painted T shirts (very pastel & pretty) and other goodies while comparing prices. Jumped on the Ferry to Dockyard (for a much needed rest) and contiued shopping there. Better prices for some things like spices, tree ornaments, and there is a funky little store (it's either the first store you come in, or the last one you check out) which sells lots of art, linens, candles, frames, and stuff. Sent my fiance back in Jan just to pick up some cute little "Bermuda Onion" napkin holders. This store is my favorite but I'm sorry I don't know the name, very cute & the shopkeeper has a quick wit.

Enjoy you're trip.

There are some local ceramics and glass items to be found if you're brave enough to try to take them home. Do your research in advance if you want to shop to see how you can do in the deal department. I got a Longchamp bag at the store in Hamilton that was a bargain two years ago, but last year, not such a deal.

Most places will ship your glass/ceramics for you.
