Thanks for the additional thoughts. Was tied up this wekend with work but will look at these later n the week.
We don;t want a private island - not just for the cost (although they are more than we want to pay) but because we do want to have some life. Want quiet but not dead. Will look at these options. If I had to give a cost I would say we would like to keep it to about $20,000 for the week - but can be flexible to get exactly what we want. |
What about the Royal Collection Pool Suites at Spice Island on Grenada?
Cap Juluca private pool suites, available in 1- 2- or 3-bedrooms. On Anguilla Or Sheriva, which is a collection of villas right about Cap Juluca. They have private pools and you have full resort access at Cap Juluca? |
I haven't seen anyone mention the private villas at Little Dix Bay, Virgin Gorda. Hard to tell from the pictures, but all of them have private pools, and some of them may offer total privacy. Might be worth a call.

Thanks again for all of the recos - we'll be looking at them in depth this weekend.

I don't know if you're willing to look at Mexico - but in my opinion the Banyan Tree chain does the villa/resort thing just right. And at your price point, you can get a bigger villa which will have the bigger pool you're looking for.

Imanta Resort in Punta Mita has exactly what you're looking for.

Sheriva in Anguilla has private pools, a fantastic staff, and beach privileges at Cap Juluca. Cap has my favorite beach on Anguiilla, and Anguilla is my favorite island. Many great beaches, fantastic restaurants, and the locals are really really nice. They are somewhat reserved and expect to be treated politely. For example, say good morning, how are you before getting down to business. Anguilla is not "snooty" but it is fairly flat. The flat islands have the white sand beaches. And Anguilla's weather is the same as St Martin, St Bart, etc. It does tend to get hot in the tropics, but that's why you have the private pool!

Four Seasons Nevis has villas w/ private pool. They are "supported by the amenities of the Hotel".
Around $3000/night which falls within your budget. www.fourseasons.com/nevis |
Thanks for all of the replies. It now looks like life may intervene again (not sure yet) but will keep this book, arked in case it looks like we can get away. (Neice just got engaged and has asked my DH to give her away - since she has no contact with her dad.)

On St Lucia = Jalousie and Ladera
private plunge pools (not full swimming pools) at or in each room/villa |
Check out TC Villas, we stayed at Villa Paprika. We didn't get the staff, but I know that is an option for all of the houses. Even though we were on the beach, we used the pool a lot too.
