We went to Club St. Lucia on Jan 31/99. We had a great time. The resort is advertised as a 3 star and that is all it is. The rooms were large and very new looking ie. furniture and paint. The food I found to be standard resort fare, but very good. There are 3 restaurants at Club St. Lucia. The beach is smaller than it looks in the ads, but still nice. We didn't find it too crowded. It's not sandy once you get in the water, more pebbly. There is a beach just off the hotel property called Smuggler's, also very small, but a far superior beach, all sand. Club St. Lucia also has a bar set up there. Overall we thought the property was very good value for the money. We would definately return. Email me if you would like more info.

Oh boy, I stayed there in november of 93 for a supposed 14 day stay....
We left after 9 days because it was all we could take....the food is just ok(common food)The beach borders on being not exactly what you want in a vacation beach(very small W plenty of sea urcins to step on) The rooms were way overrated(pathetic)for what you pay....oh and did I forget to mention, all the walking? your room may be 2 blocks back in the bush...Yikes what a haul to breakfast!
In all my extended travels I really did not like the value for this place, and considered it my BIGGEST TRAVEL LOSS, to date.
Honestly I still prey to God and Jesus that I never end up with another Club St. Lucia Vacation again.(very seriously)
It was an extreme ripoff(I mean it, only a 2 star rating, at best), and did I forget to mention all the Children(many)?

We just got back from a stay at Windjammer. The only thing I know about club St. Lucia is that we met another couple who were booked at club St. Lucia. They found the place so disgusting that they called their travel agent and moved over to Windjammer Landing. They were happy with windjammer, as were we.

My husband and I stayed at Club St.Lucia in Feb 99. It was our first Caribbean vacation and really enjoyed it. The resort was what I would call average. The food was a little disappointing though. We were told that there were other resturants off the gounds that we should have gone to namely the Great House. The beach is what we had expected as our travel agent told us that you would not find a 7 mile sandy beach. Afterall this is a volcanic island. Smugglers Cove Beach was nice it is a walk from the main beach area but worth it. I do believe there were 70 some stairs to go down to get to the beach just to let you know. We were lucky to get a room on the beach. There were only 12 rooms on this location. It cost a little more, but we were glad we went for it. Otherwise you could be in for quite a hike to and from the beach and dining areas. We were happy with the resort as a whole. The people were very helpful and friendly and we would go back there again.

If you are on a budget, I highly recommend it. The previous posters (Anton) who panned it need to examine their expectations.

My wife and I stayed at Club St. Lucia 2 years ago and had a great time. The beach is small, but it was clean. The food is good, not great. The room was small, but everything was clean and everything worked. We were only in the room to sleep and shower anyway. The staff was great.

If you are looking for luxury go elsewhere. For fun and sun on a beautiful island I would recommend Club St. Lucia.
