Seasick

My husband gets slightly seasick on choppy waters. We want to take a ferry from St. John to some of the other islands. Any particular ferries to avoid?

I heard that if you go during some rough weather than you can get very sick.

I guess it just depends what the weather is like for that day.

As a preventative, take dramamine or other anti-sick medicine.

Bonine is usually effective for any motion sickness and needs to be taken about an hour before any trip. Standard dose is 25 mg but can be taken twice a day if the dose is 12.5mg. The only problem with motion sickness medication is the necessity of avoiding alcohol. Others report success with the use of ginger root. Normally the waters are not rough but that just depends on the winds and waters.

I used Ginger Tablets for the motion sickness when on a cruise. It is all natural and you can get it from a vitamin store or health food store. Helps greatly!

Has he ever tried Sea Bands? They are small elastic bands that you wear on your wrists. They have plastic lumps that press into an accupressure point and they work wonderfully. I get seasick in the bathtub (practically) and they allowed me to go on a four day cruise.
