Scuba diving Cayman Islands

We will be here on a one day cruise. Are there any on the island we should use versus the cruise excursion which is offered? We are thinkig perhaps the cruise will not visit the same places. Perhaps the experience will not be as interesting as a company on the island. Any suggestions?

We stayed in Cayman for a week last June. My husband used Don Foster's and was happy with them. Don't know if they're back up and running since the hurricane, though. Try DiveCayman.com for info. The diving in Cayman is not to be missed-fantastic!

I highly recommend Rob with Aqua Adventures. He is very knowledgeable and safety is his number one concern. He helped my son and I become certified last summer. Check out caymaniac.com/aqua. If he isn't available, see divecayman.ky. Have a nice trip.

Ocean Frontiers. We used them a couple of times and they were fantastic. They are also continually rated very high in Caribbean travel magazines as the "top rated". (Not sure who does the voting, but we loved them. Top notch outfit.)

I thank you for your replies. This ship isn't in port till 10 a.m. Most of the dives begin then, plus it may be on the other side of the island. We feel we will have to stick with the ships tour due to time restrictions.
