SANDS AT GRACE BAY?

Need opinions/experiences about the Sands at Grace bay in Turks and Caicos. My husband and I would like a relaxing, do nothing 5-6 day trip and need to know more about this facility from others before we make a decision. We vaca. at Hyatt in Aruba last May (loved it) and need to make a choice between Turks or old reliable Aruba

Never been to Aruba, but we stayed at The Sands last summer and really enjoyed it. There is very little in the way of shopping, night life and no high rises on T&C , which is quite different from what I hear about Aruba. But the beach is wonderful and the island is as safe as Aruba. Great reef snorkling right off the beach a short walk from The Sands. The Sands has a great resturant, 3 pools, gym, small store and a great staff.

Hello,

We have been to both places. We like Aruba very much but TC's beach is amazing. We stayed at the Sands and love it. I agree with the post above. If you just want to beach it is the perfect place for it. We would go back in a heartbeat!!!

Enjoy it!
Miriam

Hi, I've been to both places and liked them both. Grace Bay Beach is even better than Aruba's beaches! The Sands is nice but in no way compares to the Hyatt in Aruba which gets my vote for best pool area/landscaping I have ever seen. However, the Sands condos have more space than the rooms at the Hyatt. If you want a great beach vacation and don't mind that the Sands' public areas are basic compared to the Hyatt's then you will enjoy the Sands.

I've been to both Aruba and T&C. My hands down favorite is T&C. Stayed at The Sands last time down. Loved it. A few of many reasons is a lot less wind than Aruba, less arid than Aruba, better diving than Aruba(I did not dive Bonaire or Curacao) and closer than Aruba. We're going back in December. Aruba is nice but Provo is our favorite.
