Sandals St. Lucia Golf

My fiancee and I are going to Sandals St. Lucia Golf and Resort. I have heard that instant upgrades are available for free. We are going on 3/25/02--Is this a realistic possibility? Also I'd appreciate any advice on "working" the resort to it's fullest potential.

We have been to numerous Sandals and there really is no rhyme or reason to the upgrades. With the new Signature Guest Program, returnees now apparently get a free upgrade, if available.

It also seems to help if you are going in the off season (as more room are open), and if you book through a Sandals Specialist or an agent that books alot of Sandals.

Have your travel agent request an upgrade for you. Some people also fax in a request to teh resort themselves prior to going and as for one when you get there as well.

Best bet is to always book the cateogry that you want. You might not like the location of the upgrade.

We were upgraded everytime we have been to a Sandals. We booked deluxe and were upgraded to a oceanview suite, I have a wonderful travel agent whom puts in a upgrade request before we get there and it has always worked for us.We also are Signature Guests. All the rooms are nice at that resort.

Honeymooned in St Lucia at the Sandals Golf and Resort 6 yrs ago this Jan 6th!!!It was a wonderful trip and a beautiful island resort. However, the beach is a little disappointing as it is not the clear caribbean blue since it is a volcanic island. suggestion: ask to take a private van trip from one of the locals on the island to take you wherever you want on the island for pictures, view of the Piton Mountains and the volcano. Have a great time....oh and the piano bar is very nice late in the evening. Also, be sure to eat at La Toc the elegant French restaurant on the resort. The food was great!!!Happy St. Lucia!!!Wish we were going back.

Thanks Michelle!

I'm getting real psyched now and my fiancee was very interested in the volcano--so that sounds like a great idea!!
