Sandals Royal

We just got back from Sandals Royal, and loved it. Any Questions?

Fred,

I am very interested in your stay as my wife and I have been to both Sandals Montego Bay and Roayla Jamaican and were looking at the Royal Bahamian for next year. The last time we were in Nassau was seven years ago. Did they have any serious hurricane damage ? Which room catagory did you have and which would you now recommened. How is Nassau in general since the hurricane.

We are currently looking for a honeymoon destination for November 2000. Sandals is one of our choices although we're not sure which one. Our leading possibilities are Dunn's River Falls and the Royal Bahamian.

We'd like to know how the room categories compare at each resort, too.
Any other recommendations would be a big help.

Thanks!

Stacey - as for a Sandals recommendation, I have not been to either one you are looking at. However, my husband and I have been to Sandals Negril twice now and do plan to return yet again. Our first trip in 1989 for our honeymoon and our second in 1997. Each time, our stay was fabulous - no complaints whatsoever. The food was excellent, the service superb, waterskiing was great and the rooms were very clean and beautiful. There are lots of activities but you don't have to participate. It makes for a very romantic honeymoon spot - heaven on earth as far as I'm concerned. We have been to Ocho Rios as well and did not like it at all. The falls were beautiful but everything was dirty. We preferred the calm serene beauty of Negril and liked that there were no high-rise buildings there. You will hear alot of negatives about the Jamaican people. Keep an open mind - they are a very jovial and accomodating group. You are well protected at an A/I but it really is safe to venture out - and lot's of fund to do so. Whatever you do - enjoy your honeymoon!
Sorry I wasn't clear Bill, We stayed at the Royal Jamaican, and because of Hurricane Floyd, there were a lot of people from the royal bahamian transferring in.

Stacy, We stayed in room 73 in the Windsor block, out the front door was the pool and out the back door was the beach and the volleyball net. This url will get you some of the pictures.
http://home1.gte.net/fdunion/PAGE16.html
