Sandals or Atlantis?

My fiance & I cannot agree on our honeymoon destination. Does anyone have any suggestions on which to choose? We know that everything is included at sandals. But are the watersports, slides etc. included at Atlantis? How do the beaches compare? Any information would be a great help.

Jedi: I have not been to Sandals, but we prefer to not go all-inclusive since we like to get out and explore.

We visited Atlantis last Sunday while in Nassau on our vacation. It's known locally as "Disneyland". The complex is beautiful with many restaurants, casino, lagoon, water slides, pool and an amazing underground aquarium that could easily rival any city. That said, it is gigantic with several buildings and towers maybe 15 or 20 stories tall.

I suppose it would be quite the place for a honeymoon unless you cater to quiet and solitude. It is a class place, though. Very fancy.

If you avoid all-inclusive, Nassau is a good place to dine around in. You can eat at Anthony's on Paradise Island (just down from Atlantis), Cafe' Johnny Canoe at the Nassau Beach Hotel and down farther on Cable Beach, Dickey Moe's is good, also. You can get downtown for $3.00 by water taxi from Paradise Island and $0.75 by bus to Cable Beach (P/P).

Best of luck.

Save the extra money and stay at Sandals
we were there in Feb of this yr and loved it. You can spend $20 per person and enjoy all the amenties at the Atlantis resort for one day. Much cheeper the staying there. Or you can take the tour of Atlantis if you like it was well worth the $25 total for just the tour.

Jedi,

My wife and I just returned from Sandals last weekend, and we would recommend Sandals over Atlantis for your honeymoon. Sandals while being bigger than most Sandals will still give you more soletude and romantic type atmosphere. Sandals is gorgeous and has a fair size beach and also you can go out to the private island as they have a shuttle every hour. The food at this resort is the best we have had at any Sandals and all of them have been fantastic.

We visited Atlantis and it is absolutely gorgeous but way too big and over priced, glass of house wine $15, beer $5. I think being on your honeymoon you would like catered to and pampered, at Atlantis I think you would just be another number.

If you go to Sandals you must request the Windsor building Ocean view, Honeymoon suite. If you want to pay the additional for Concierge thats ok but we were so disappointed with our's that we had a sit down with the resident manager.

If you have any other questions e-mail me.
