Sandals in Negril

My husband and I spent our anniversary at the Sandal Resort in Ocho Rios last year and had a fabulous time.

We are now looking into going to the Sandals Resort in Negril next year and wonder if any one had any advice. I have read in travel books that it's for the younger set (we are in our late 30's).

Any advice would be welcomed.

Have you looked into Couples Resorts instead? A bit less expensive and a wonderful resort that has a vast array of different ages....... We just stayed at Couples Negil last April and loved it.

Go to http://www.tropictravelonline.com/ and post your same question this is a site for Sandals Returning Guests and you will get good feedback. We have done 2 day trips to SNG and are going there in 4 weeks.

My husband and I were not impressed with Sandals Negril. We went to Montego Bay for our honeymoon and Ocho Rios in 2004, we tried out Negril last October and it didn't meet our expectations.

Granted we were there when Hurricane Wilma was working its way through the Caribbean so it wasn't the resort's fault that it rained all but 1 day and there was tons of seaweed washed up making the beach unusable.

They advertise it as a "beach resort" which should be more laid back than the party at Montego but the service just wasn't up to Sandals quality that we experienced at Ocho and Montego. The restaurants weren't great and the beach wasn't as nice as Montego Bay. I didn't see it was a resort for younger couples...we are in our late 20's and we felt like babies compared to the majority of the people in resort the week we were there. We head to Sandals Dunns River in less than 2 months so we're very excited for no rain this year.

If I can answer anything specific for you, e-mail me at [email protected]
