Sandals in Antigua
 

My fiancee and I are seriously considering chosing this as our honeymoon destination. I'm looking for feedback on both Antigua and the Sandals resort.

I stayed at Sandals Antigua about 5 years ago. It was wonderful! The resort was quite, but there was always alot of activities going on. They had several pools so none were very crowded...often only 1 or 2 people. The staff, service, and food were also very good. I only raelly left the resort on one occasion to go the casino in town....it was ok. I did, however, go on a long horseback ride...it was beautiful. Hope this helps..Have a wonderful honeymoon!

Becky, <BR> <BR>My wife and I vacationed in Antigua a few years ago (Sandals)...it's a wonderfully quiet and relaxing place. The Island is beautiful if you explore a little. Shirley Heights & Hawksbills are good starters. Hire a cab driver for the day (about $40-50). <BR>We did see one wedding and it was great, the pavillion is close to the beach with flowers all around. <BR>The only bad part about Sandals is that it calms down around 10pm.....a little slow for us, so this year it's Hedonism2 in Negril..... <BR>Good luck and congrats!!!

We just arrived back from Antigua yesterday. We didn't do much travelling around the island as we were at at an all-inclusive Allegro Pineapple Beach. We vegged for the week. The beaches there are wonderful. The country itself is having a drought so you will not find lushness if that is what you are looking for. We also found that the country itself is quite poor, most houses are very run down and outdoor plumbing. The capital St. John's is quite small, again, very poor, with sewage running down the streets which we found to be a little bit of a shock. So if you want to do some running around the countryside, you won't want to rent a car, driving english style on other side of the street, with narrow streets and fast driving. They seem to have plenty of excursions that leave directly from the hotels. The weather however, was fantastic !

I stayed there Feb 21-27 2000 for our honeymoon. Beautiful water, and the food was good for an all-inclusive. Since we are from NYC, we were used to slightly better fare. The drinks/activities were great, <BR>but you have to put your towel out early to get a beach chair. I would return again. Ask any questions
