Diana,

WE too loved Beaches and were there without children. It is a very romantic and beautiful resort.

Evening entertainment was good. Each night, they always had something going on byt the mainpool, by the beach. Alot of it did include the children (which was adorable!) but island themed with local music, danceetc... The paino bar always got a good crowd.

Be sure to go snorkling infront of the White House. And if you want to walk to town (far walk but nice in the beach) walk all the way down the beach to Club Med - cut through and you are there! Only problem is,, the stores tend to keep their own hours!

Loved Schooner - had the largest serving of King Crab Legs we had ever seen!

I have stayed at many Sandals Royal Bahamian, Negril and St. Lucia and the new Royal Plantation are the Most Upscale.
I also love the 3 Grand Lido Resorts offered by SuperClubs. All 3 have AAA 4-Diamond Designations and Negrils Chef was award the Gold Medal for Best Chef in the Caribbean.
I love the Beach at Swept Away (a Couples Resort). The best room type is Atruim, it is not worth it to pay extra for beachfront, because the folige hide the beach anyway.

Hello [email protected],
I read that you are looking for a good travel agent, well here I am. I am a Sandals and Beaches Specialist and have personally traveled throughout the Carribean and would be happy to help plan your vacation to Sandals Halcyon. I have reduced prices during January and February for all of the Sandals properties so call me toll free at 877-672-3348. Hope to hear from you soon.

[email protected]

Go to the www.wiredflyer.com site. Pick an agency, any agency and go to their web site. It's great. You can look at what your considering purchasing before you ever hit a keystroke or pick up a phone. And their pricing is great also. My friend booked thru one of them for a week back in November, to stay in Jamaica, and she and her husband only paid $1100.00 total. And it was their golf and beach resort. You can stay at one and play at them all, if there is more than one where you choose to stay. Remember, www.wiredflyer.com, you'll be forever hooked on "Sandals".

Does anyone have any information on the Breezes Resort in Nassau Bahamas. I was thinking about staying there for my honeymoon. I'm looking for a beautiful beach, lots of activities, and very nice room. Can anyone help me!

Joyce Dec 14th, 2001 07:29 AM

Melinda,
You do not mention when you are traveling. I do not suggest the Bahamas Nov-March because it is not necessarily as warm as most people want (30 minutes by plane off of Miami) and can be in the high 60's or 70's at times.
Breezes is a very nice property, not fancy like Sandals Royal Bahamian but very active.
I actually book more trips to the Mayan Riviera near Cancun, because the prices are better and you get more value for your dollar. Jamaica is also a great Honeymoon Spot.
Mexico-Palace Resorts, Iberostar Resorts, Riu Resorts, Barcelo Mayan and El Dorado Resorts are your best choices.
Jamaica- Superclubs (you may want to avoid Breezes Montego Bay and the 2 Hedonisms), Sandals (all but Sandals Inn) are good, Couples Ocho Rios or Swept Away (one of the best beaches anywhere).
Bahamas-Sandals Royal Bahamian (very expensive but gorgeous), Breezes Cable Beach are the 2 best All-Inclusives.
I am an All-Inclusive Specialist and have seen most of these Resorts.

Lois Dec 14th, 2001 07:35 AM

Joyce for a travel agent you do NOT give very good information. First you were so negative about renting cars and now you are not quite right with the Bahamas .. there is a chance of it being cool especially in January but that is also when you can pick up some good deals!

mary Dec 14th, 2001 08:05 AM

Lois: I think if you re-read her post, you will see that she said the temperatures are cooler November through March. Obviously that includes January. And nobody said anything about looking for good deals.

Melinda Dec 14th, 2001 10:31 AM

Thank you so much for you input Lois. I forgot to mention I would be going on my honeymoon the end of July. My fiance and I are looking for an all inclusive resort with beautiful beaches(not extremely crowded), accomadations and nightly activities at the resort something for couples only. We would also like to go someplace where there are other things to do besides at the resort. I some resorts there is nothing near by to tour or see.
. I'm having such a hard time picking a honeymoon destination. Do you have any suggestions. I have never been to the Carribean or Mexico.

Thank you

Melinda Dec 14th, 2001 10:33 AM

I'm so sorry Joyce. I directed my reply to Lois. I was clearly mistaken.

Joyce Dec 14th, 2001 10:48 AM

Melinda,
Breezes is Adults only, but not couples only.
The Adults only Resorts in Mexico are Adventura Palace, Spa Palace, El Dorado Resort and Spa and Eldorado Royale (the later are secluded and quiet), the Palace Resorts more lively.
In Jamaica: Couples Only are Swept Away, Couples Ocho Rios, Couples Negril and the Sandals Properties.
The SuperClubs are adults only, but most especially at the Grand Lido Resorts are Couples.
In Nassau-Sandals Royal Bahamian is couples only (very expensive, but the nicest Sandals I have stayed in)
In St. Lucia Sandals Halycon and Sandals St. Lucia and Rendevous are couples only.
I hope this helps. If you would like e-mail me and I will give you my web address as most of these properties are pictured.

We have had the pleasure of experiencing many different resorts. Such as sandals, beaches, couples, allegro, rui, qualton, jack tar, blue bay and many more. By far our favorite is the Beaches resort at Turks and Caicos. It is wonderful, excellant food, service and activities. 9 restaurants with dishes such as crab, lobster, ribs, surf n turf, snapper etc.. I would go back in a minute. The snorkeling and diving were excellant. We saw a shark, many barracuda, puffer fish, trigger fish, a large school of tuna and many sea turtles. My next favorite resort was Couples negril (the snorkeling was terrible) the resort was great I would recommend it. My third choice for an island is cozumel. Take care

Just returned from our second vacation at Sandals Antigua and just as wonderful as ever. Lush landscaping, very good to excellent cuisine, fun activities (also quiet if you want), great swim up bar & several pools/jacuzzis, good daily entertainment, and the staff is terrific! Long beach for walks, watersports etc. The Sunday afternoon at Shirley Heights is fun and in general the island is very nice to tour and people are friendly. I believe Sandals is offering a 30% discount? Vendors walk the beach but walk on if you're not interested, we met a really nice vendor who always greeted us even though we didnt purchase anything. Good luck.

Penney Dec 18th, 2001 12:50 PM

That 30% discount has been goingon for a while it seems.

I know they will be having the biggie discount again for April for Reunion Week - can get some really good deals then.

I have visited Sandals Mo Bay over a year ago and loved it... well.. we had a fabulous time but I was not at all impressed with the property. Since we loved the all-inclusive resort that Sandals is we stayed at the Royal Bahamian a few months ago and truly fell in love. The property was absolutly beautiful.. but the people there were not as nice and outgoing as the Mo bay resort. Our room was unbeleiveable and we did not have any problems or complaints.. in fact the only problem I am having now is choosing another vacation spot that can match the lovely Sandals in the Bahamas.

We are looking at St. Lucia for this feb. and would like more insights from other visitors, especially to comparte the bahamas resort to the st. lucia resort. I heard rhe golf and spa resort is fantastic. Is the bad info I have been hearing about the beach and rooms really true? I have a reservation on hole for the week of 2/17 via the charter jet out of Newark. Any suggestions..comments??/

We just got back from Sandals Royal Caribbean 2 days ago and LOVEd it! The staff was wonderful and our room was lovely- the food was excellent and the drinks and bar service was great too. I would reccomend it whole-heartedly to anyone looking for a worry-free vacation.

Diane Dec 26th, 2001 03:54 PM

Vita, Am leaving for Sandals St.Lucia on Dec.30(Golf&Spa). Will let you know when we get back. You can e-mail me after Jan.6 if you want. I read the messages on the beach and water. It may be the time of year, either way I plan on having a good time.
