Hello-
Just looking for some honest opinions about Sandals in Bahamas. We have never wanted to stay at an all inclusive, but after some research in this property, it doesn't look bad at all. We don't need 5 start cuisine, but is the food at least good and fresh? Also, from the other posts, it looks like the Windsor Gande Luxe are the rooms to stay in? We are a couple, with no kids (which is why we are leaning towards Sandals) in our mid 40's. Thank you everyone! Jane |
We stayed at Sandals Royal Bahamian in Sept. 2003. We loved the resort and thought the food was quite good. Better than any other AI we've been to. They have a buffet for breakfast at Spices or Casanova and ala cart at Baccarat. There are no buffets for dinner, which we liked. We enjoyed Kimonos the best and ate there twice. Make sure you get your dinner reservations as soon as you get there. So you'll need to do some planning in advance. Fortunately, Sept. wasn't crowded, so getting reservations wasn't a big deal.
We stayed in the Manor House in a Honeymoon Oceanview Concierge Room. We never used the concierge service, room service or the in room bar, so felt it was a waste of money. We had a balcony overlooking the Manor pool and the beach. We prefered the Manor side. It was less crowded and closer to most of the restaurants. We were late 40's and mid 30's when we went. There were alot of honeymooners, but the age mix was OK. We enjoyed the piano bar and dancing at the Royal theater. We played billards and chess and had late night snacks at Cricketers pub. The chicken wings were good. We found the service and the friendlyness of the staff very good. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me. I have pics on our web-site at: http://community.webshots.com/user/kvrlvn We are going to Sandals Grande St. Lucian in Nov. |
