How can I get to St. John from San Juan without paying $200.00 r/t air to St. Thomas plus ferry?

There is no airport in St John. The only way to get there is by ferry from St Thomas or St Croix (via St Thomas).

Check out sunshine air (www.sunshineair.com). They fly from San Juan to St Croix and then you can take the ferry. It is $170 round trip

Might want to check to see if the PR/STT ferry schedule fits your schedule. Goes alternate weekends leaving PR on Sunday, STT/STJ on the previous Friday. Fare $80 rt. Caribe Cay 340-776-6282 is close to the fares on Seaborne Seaplane out of Old Town, San Juan to STT (www.seaborneonline.com). Also Cape Air, Air Sunshine and Air St. Thomas but all are pretty competitive. A quick search showed Eagle flights for $154 for end of Nov but fare would depend on dates. No way to get to STJ without the ferry from STT unles by water taxi or private boat (or swimming). Before heading to STX better check to see if the ferry will even be running and I can't imagine why you'd want a longer more complicated trip to save a few $$$$.
